Default Re: Gravity bends a crank?

Yup. I bought an NOS 1936 crankshaft at Hershey, still sealed it its box, back in the sixties.
Hauled that thing home and pried open the box...Holy Cow!! It was just a shapeless 50 pound iron blob, stuck to the bottom of the box!!
Well, I thought it through. Turned it upside down, stuck it on a shelf way in the back of the garage. Every time I think of it, I go back there and peer into the end of the box with a flashlight. Well, I can see it coming down like stalactites and starting to form up again! The counterweights are about there, the journals are still a little funky.
I just hope I live long enough to see a crank in there, and I sure hope I don't wait too long and see a blob on the other side of the box!
