In #4s picture there is a small spring loaded piece in the centre part of the longer round piece. On similar setups I've seen the rubber(?) insert in the end of that spring loaded piece deteriorate. It was easier and quicker to take the part out of a new solenoid to replace it, rather than replacing the whole solenoid. The individual parts weren't available.
