My Motors book shows a break down of the wagon rears and there are no axle clips; just the outer bearing retainer.

They have the slide hammer adapter you can borrow at O'Reilly's.

More than a few times I have had to put the rosebud on my torch and heat the end of the axle housing in combination with the slide hammer to get them pulled.
