In the sixties, K98s and the Moisin Nagants and Arisakas 7.7, not to mention Carcanos, Swiss Veterlis, Enfields and Springfields , and Garands were like road apples, all over the place. I never owned a a Garand or a Mauser but I owned all the others. There was a Russian 10 shot semi auto that I can't recall the name of. They made the pistol too. They didn't time the gas piston correctly and the action would fly open before the bullet was clear of the muzzle. That could be hard on your eardrums!
