I had a very nice conversation with FB user "quickchange" (posted reply #4 above) just before the banquet. He told me that the NZ people spent about $1500 one-way to ship their Model A's to the US for the MAFCA meet.

I have a whole new appreciation for what the NZ (and other non-continental participants) go through to attend one of these meets. My American baseball cap is off to each of you!
