I think most all of the older Dana/Spicer model 44 rear axles have the "44" casting mark just below the bulls eye at the junction of the axle tube and the differential containment housing on the rear surface. All of them use about the same rear cover too. I don't know about the Dana/Spicer model 41 but they have the more rounded cover cap at the rear so a person can tell that they have the smaller diameter ring gear set up. Ford used them for the 1948 thru early 50 F1 pickups and the 1949 thru early 50 Mercury cars plus the 8BA type station wagons and police cars in that time frame.
