Don Rogers comments and pix pretty well sum up what is required to put a rumble seat into a '35-36 coupe. The one thing he over-looked is the drain hoses that attach to the bottom of the side drip rails.

The only source for these hoses is to use washing machine drain hoses that extend down into the lower portion of trunk area.
I removed a complete rumble seat assembly from a '36 Ford in 1961. I was going to convert my coupe to a RS car. Started and stopped the project many times over a twenty-five year time span. Every time I would start to cut the drip rail off, I'd stop and think about the damage I was going to inflict upon the body to accomplish what?
I would then put everything away for awhile. Finally sold the whole RS assembly to a man that had been pestering me for years. The man kinda choked on the $1,200. price, however, it was the last remaining part (s) he needed for his '36 Roadster.
Everyone was happy, he had a RS, I did not cut my car up and I had $1,200.
