I had a unusual problem in my '33 roadster with a stock 8BA. The oil pressure was good after a mild rebuild with a melling high volume oil pump. Suddenly the pressure dropped to ZERO. I shut the engine off immediately and dropped the pan. Everything looked OK until I dropped the oil pump and found the pump drive shaft had sheared completely about 2 inches up from the pump body. Had to be a metal issue. The pump turned over no problem. Put in a stock pump and everything is good after many miles.
