I know not everyone has a solvent tank, but if it were me, I'd buy a gallon of solvent and a stiff bristled brush and use a bit of elbow grease to clean it out..., the use a piece of window screen inside a funnel and pour it back into the can...toss the screen, keep reusing the solvent.

I hate having to wait for things i want clean of grease/oil packed dirt, etc.
