Totally immerse your parts in Simple Green, full strength. Get a big bucket from home depot etc. put the part in it and cover the part with Simple Green, leave it a day or more, rinse with water and if it is still greasy drop it in again. Works great.

I have never tried molasses so I can't speak to that but i have used Evap-O-Rust. Applied in the same manner as I prescribed for the the Simple Green it will do just as they claim.
