I did see one comment recently about adding an additional small piece of copper tubing between the gas shutoff and the pencil filter, decreases tank capacity slightly, but allows more junk to settle on the bottom of the tank instead of going through the or blocking the shutoff. Additionally some hang a magnet from the fuel filler opening, with the magnet on the bottom of the tank. Some recommend putting a magnet in the Sediment bowl.


Here a few strings on a Sediment Bowl micro filter that replaces the sediment bowl screen, and other added inline filters. Some think there are great, others have had problems. If you do a search there is more info.
