You should always check the roundness of the surfaces you can easily do. I have found the bottom of the bearing on the spindle is often worn. Well out of the 12 spindles I have 10 are too worn for me to use them.
Then there is fit of the bearing shell in the hub. They should always need to be pressed in with a bit of pressure. If they just slide in then they are not so good.

You can fix stuff with bearing glue or pricking the area. I first try to locate a better part.
