Several folks here recommended a good product for the application, but I don't remember the brand. I used it in 2017 when I was doing some major body work on this '55. It is available at some chain auto parts stores and used with a standard caulking gun. Don't get any on ya. And be real careful not to accidentally get any on the exposed portion of the car top.
I did strip the old material out of the rain gutter, then primer and enamel overcoat prior to caulking. Still looks like new and my car is never garaged.
