Regarding real 21-23 buses, it appears I misspoke and I appreciate your correction. I have been loosely tracking the converted buses and I don't have access to the private sales nor am I in the market for a real bus.

No worries. I'm a VW guy too, and have little use for a bus, regardless of the price. I do think the bus prices are way out of hand, even for the basic versions. Those are in the $10k-40k range depending on the condition. Air cooled bugs are getting into the $5k and higher territory now.
