We remember December of 1941 in the US but it was September of 1939 for a lot of our fellow barn members overseas. I always remember June 6 1944 and August 6, 1945 too.
Most young kids just look at you funny when you mention VE or VJ days. They have no idea what you are talking about. Fewer yet even know that Veterans day used to be Armistice Day or even what war ended on that day. It's up to us to educate them I guess.
