I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that a 1940 and 1939 are similar/same. Kube will shoot me down if I'm full of it. The pictures below show the cover door that you're looking for, as well as where it is located in the trunk. Shouldn't be any carpet involved. I BELIEVE the lower picture is a COUPE, but location should be very close. Hope this helps! DD
