A lot of it has to do with climate. In a relatively dry area like Vegas corrosion should not be too much of a problem. I am in Central Va where we have a lot of humidity. It is not just T cables that have a problem with corrosion, all vehicles, lawn mowers, etc. can have a poor connection due to corrosion in a few years.
