I just did that, my opinion, I don't like wiggles, not about to cheap out on a 2 dollar
bushing and a new pump rod. As Andy said drive it down into the cam bore. Now
I have absoultly no wiggle and the rod slowly slides down under its own weight. I bought
this bushing right down the street (engine builder) . Never seen this type; the inside
bore has three ribs to retain oil. I didn't ask but I think they machined this bushing.
They have a box of these on the shelf Yes they are well versed on 32-53 V8's. They
thermo cleaned my block & magnafluxed it--What a job looks brand new.
