I cannot tell you what is wrong without looking at it, but it is a spring or spring mounting problem. Inspect your springs and spring mountings.
DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE YOUR REAR SPRING WITHOUT A PROPER SPRING SPREADER AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO IT, unless you want to go into space. Very dangerous if not done properly, With the proper tools and knowledge it is safe.
Thanks everyone for your insights. I don't plan on removing any leafs. I think i'll try loosening the shackles and center bolts, lubing the springs. During this process trying to shift the the chassis across the leafs then re-tighten.
