The reason the Stromberg 97s were only used for three years is that they are difficult to repair and adjust, particularly in twos or threes. They became popular because three would fit on a hot rod manifold with the stock generator. At our shop we recently rebuilt
a 97, and I had to search for my special tools from my hotrod days in the early 50's.
