Hi Bill, in the '53 (if I remember correctly

) there are three different wiring sections, the primary (under dash, through firewall to generator, voltage regulator, horn relay), the secondary headlight, parking light and last the tail light, back up light, trunk light, and fuel sending unit. We have a Crestline so the primary harness also has accommodations for turn signals and accessory (spor lights) included in the harness. Hope this helps.
