I guess they had some in 39 but I've never seen one. I've built a lot 40-41-42 with the tin can sleeves .040 - I've built a lot of 8N-9N tractor engines, some have .040 sleeves and some have .090 sleeves. The flatheads with the .040 sleeves make a good engine by removing the sleeves and boreing another .045 to 3-3/16 and using std. 8BA pistons, and using the A heads. You can really feel the low end torque in the seat of the pants. Walt
