Check the carb float. Shake the brass type to see if it contains fuel. If it is the plastic type, replace it. Either type will cause the float to drop, allowing overflow. In the case of the plastic type, alcohol fuel will infiltrate the float. Virtually all gas today contains alcohol. Even if the pumps say no ethanol, the pump and hose still can hold it if the last user bought gasohol.
