I had the same issue with push-in fasteners for the anti-rattler felts. The ones that came with the felt channel kit I bought were not spring steel. So, when pushed into the holes of the door sheet metal, they would just collapse on themselves and not expand as needed to hold the felts. I wound up using 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive and some clamps. They turned out great.
