Lightbulb Re: car hauler trailer

" Wind resistance " does not factor into the choice of a towing vehicle ...

Stopping capability does ....

I have always towed with an F350 Dually Quad Cab Diesel ....

It weighs 9500 pounds on average - my enclosed trailer
on average weighs 8500 pounds loaded ....

My trailer has a V nose which does nothing to decrease wind resistance.

I have a 4:10 rear differential.

I tow at 55 m.p.h. every day ....

I can safely stop my load in most cases .....

I reduce my speed to suit inclement weather conditions ...

Look around at what you see driving down the road ....

Folks with actual road experience will drive a diesel dually to tow a trailer,
others drive a gas powered inadequately equipped light duty pick up truck.
