Re: Windshield Wiper Motor -
The vacuum type motors are very simple devices and easy to repair. I have found that most of them quit working simply because the grease in them hardens up and sticks the paddle in place. I made a special "screw driver" to remove the fasteners that hold the bodies together by cutting a solid 5/16 shaft screw driver, grinding a slot in the end to fit them, and then slipped a short piece of 5/16 steel fuel line over it to reinforce the end. I works slick. Just be a little carefull and cautious in the disassembly to keep track of where the pieces go and not to break the thin castings. The only one that I have come accross that was not repairable had the inside of the vacuum chamber badly pitted and damaged, but it was still good for parts. Vaseline seams to work good to regrease the paddle and slide valve. Give it a try, not too much to lose. Good luck. Jim.
