I am having a problem getting proper spacing for the weltjng between an original undamaged rear fender and a Brookville quarter panel, I can’t get the space to be narrow enough. The problem is, the mating angles of the Brookville 1/4 panel and the fender are different . When bolted in place the mis-matched angle of the ¼ panel keeps the fender too far away to allow a tight fit of the welting.
Has anyone had the problem and come up with a solution?

yes, I have had the same problem and it was extremely frustrating. I found that buying the better-quality running board aprons, with the original-design offset flange on the one end, helped. as far as the rest of the fit, I ended up slotting out a lot of holes, both on the fender and the running board, to get a half-ass fit. I still could not tighten down the fender completely on one of the mounting bolts.
See pm too.
