The numbers for the Model B engines started at 5 million. The number you gave was assigned in April 1932 but the B engines were numbered on the flywheel housing and the boss on the block was left blank so I would guess someone stamped it in if you are finding it on the engine. Maybe it was stamped in to satisfy someone at the DMV that wanted to see a number. The Model B numbers start with B or AB (prior to 5062387) passenger cars or BB and ABB (prior to 5062387) for the big trucks not an A like you gave. Maybe somone just forgot to stamp the B in the number.
