If it is a bolt on blade 4-blade fan ( where fan blades bolt to hub with 4-bolts) then yes. Unbolt blades and remove If rivited probably not. I have done it once but it was difficult and typically can't be done.
Another reason to run a 2-blade fan.... which I would recommend you put on instead of what you have... especially in light of your trouble.

I'm sure you will.. but be careful of the radiator. I thin piece of cardboard or plastic sheeting helps protect the radiator if needed.
