When I was five, we had a '37 Chevy sedan parked next to the barn. We also had a flock of mallards which I liked to chase. They would try to hide under the Chevy and I'd crawl under it after them, and come out covered in duck exhaust. I'd get beaten and bathed, then I'd go chase the ducks again.
I went along on the car's last ride. My father was going to pull the engine for his work boat and wanted to be sure it was running okay. The local scrap dealer came to get the body.....paid $10 for it, then charged $10 to haul it away. A neighbor made the same deal to get rid of a T touring car.
