When we did the first counter balanced crank we went to Kong Engineering in SoCal. He was a salt flat racer that ran Model A engines. He had developed the counter weight process and we took one to him in the 60s. When I was at his shop he suggested cutting the flywheel to 32-36 pounds, we settled on 34 and have been running it that way since then.
