The oil is changed and a new brass washer fitted on the plug. No leak.
I tightened the trans drain plug as much as I could, within reason. It did move a little bit, hopefully enough to seal it. If not I'll remove the plug and wrap it with teflon tape and call it done. I looked all around the the trans for another area that would cause the leak and found nothing. There was the usual oil moisture but nothing that resembled a source of a leak. So, I'll check it tomorrow and see if the little bit I was able to tighten the plug was enough to seal it.
