Neat looking Ford Mike. I spent three years in Germany starting in 1956 and never saw anything like that. American made cars brought a premium in Europe for Americans stationed there. Upon returning home the owners would sometimes sell their cars and have a new one waiting for them in the US. Most Germans could not afford our cars or putting gas in them. Gasoline was 15 cents a gallon on base but was very expensive on the economy. We could have bought a new Volkswagen for $1200 but there was a 6 months waiting list. Too, I was only making about $120 a month. But on the other hand good German bier was about 20 cents a bottle. I enjoyed my three years there.
