I've heard horror stories about those regulators, seems like they always leak. My 'period' alternative is to pressurize the tank - 1922 Cadillac fuel pump and 1918 Dodge pressure gauge...no worry about voltage or leaks, just a pump every so often. (Disclaimer: my car is a T - RPU on an A chassis and the tank is in the bed)
