I thought this was a site for people who love old ford cars and not just purists. I love to see authentic restorations and I am doing that except for a few things that help me enjoy driving the car more. I will find another site if I am not welcome here.

My guess is someone with a short fuse complained and Ryan felt obligated to take some kind of action. Hopefully you you won't lose too much sleep over it.
Having worked on both original brakes as well as hydraulics on Model A's I strongly favor original. With that said it's all up to you as well as your abilities. It's better to do what it takes for YOU within your limits to be able to enjoy the car. A car just sitting is near worthless for most of us.
There is much to be learned here so take advantage of the opportunity and try not to get rattled by those with a bit of attitude. There is more than one way to do almost anything. There is often enough good information presented here to allow for educated decisions that suits an individuals needs.
