You're right, it's just like so many cars. The owner insists on shiney paint with little reguard to the mechanicals. I'll never understand why the paint has to go on first, then if there's any time or money left over, just do enough to make it run.

Also notice in the top right of the generator picture, it has a crimp on blue terminal and red plastic output wire. I'll change that to a better cloth covered wire with a soldered terminal. Colored plastic wire looks so wrong on a Model A.
