Default Re: Wire in Front Seat Cushion - 29 Special Coupe

Hi Hunter,
If you have the plain panel seat with the lap seam, it would take a spring steel wire under the cushion seam that would extend to about three inches short of each end of the outside edges of the cushion. It would then take a 90 degree turn down for about 5 inches (all by bad memory.) There is then a burlap piece about 6 inches wide and is tied to the wire under the seam. It also has a seam along the bottom that has a smaller spring steel wire that extends the length of the burlap piece. It is hog ringed to the bottom of the seat spring. That is what pulls the lap seam evenly down to create a depressed seam in the cushion. Here is a picture of the back seat of my Tudor which is similar to your Coupe seat.
