I 've been puttering around the the garage today, and was poking at one of my spare engines, which was stuck when I acquired it, so every now and again, I pull the spark plugs and pour some MMO in the cylinders.
Today it finally turned-over, by the fan and belt.
I noticed for the first time that the crank pulley is stamped-steel, as opposed to a casting.
Engine # is 3399xxx, which suggests May 1930.
The generator has a three-spoke cast pulley...
When did Ford drop the cast crank pulley ?
Thanks,
SC Frank
