Default Re: 1946 Ford Fordor project

51woodie, I installed a new NAPA voltage regulator and was getting a reading of 6.4-6.6 volts at the battery. Lights were weak. Grabbed the old regulator which was date stamped from 1963 and put it back on. Lights were bright and at RPM well into the 7-volt range. when I get time, I'll have my starter guy set the NAPA one to at least 7.2 volts. The one on the car was new in the box when I sold the car to my father-in-law back in 1991.I wonder if the quality of electrical parts has gone downhill over the years.
