When I tracked down the fellow who found my 1928 Phaeton and restored it the first time in 1960, he made the comment about the car: "It can be likened to George Washington’s axe : “same axe, just 3 new heads and 5 new handles.”
After all, the car was _technically_ still the same, even though it had its third replacement engine and considerable amounts of replaced wood in the subframe (and who knows what else...).
Interestingly enough, the engine that was in the car when he got it off the farm was a replacement, as I later found the frame number showing the car was quite a bit earlier than originally thought. I now have another engine that I plan to use as the car's fourth replacement...
