Default Re: Police sedan

Interesting once again that the police department or the Highway Patrol spent the tax players' money on an expensive upgrade like a Town Sedan instead of a relatively-speaking much cheaper Standard Fordor Sedan, which would have served the same purpose. It's a 1929 Murray-bodied Town Sedan, which was introduced in about May of that year. Perhaps the community bought this car before the stock market crash in late October, signaling the beginning of the Great Depression (although it took a couple months for the devastating effects to trickle down to the ordinary car-buying public).
Odd, too, that the fenders and side splash aprons would have been repainted from black to the lighter color, most likely white. Normally just the body received a two-tone paint combo on official cars, if any post-factory repaint job was performed at all.
