Default Re: for those who say the hobby is "expensive"

You just have to read who you are dealing with.I pay almost no attention to the lowbawling guys. Some want to pay a little, and make a lot.For the most part the guys with little money, but a real need are pretty good. After a couple of months of having something for sale I get a barrage of the, you've had it for sale long enough,it's time to drop to our price guys.I always tell them,if I don't sell it in another year or two I'll think about dropping the price. Then you get the internet offers sight unseen. My friend at the junkyard gets a lot of them.He says, how can you make an offer sight unseen? You might look at it,really like it,and want to pay me more. That makes for a quiet pause on the phone.I've bought two Model A's sight unseen, after talking to the sellers, and the bad points of both were overdescribed by the sellers. Both were better than described.
