You can have a low or bad cell and still get a 6 + Volt reading with a multi meter BUT you will have a tremendous loss of amps as well as cold cranking amps!!! Just installed a new battery and resistor a week ago, working on points and getting fresh plugs. It has 6 volt at the coil points close 3 open. Tried starting and its right there has a little get up like it wants to crank then go back to normal crank sound. Maybe it is the plugs so points and plugs. Running autolite 386.
