The short studs may work as long as the top thread on the stud is at the top of the nut. Another factor those thick ARP washers are not needed I always use stainless washers which are thinner that the ARP washer. I always order ARP studs, nuts and stainless washers from Allensfasteners.com on line they sell every item a lot less than anyone else You could order a longer stud from Allen's in any quantity needed.
If you find it comes up a touch short backing the stud out of the block a bit would work as well. The deciding factor is how high a torque you use if its 50 I don't see why what it would not work.
