Your flat issues may have been from the inspections stickers inside the American Classics and not from tire pressure. I got four damaged tubes from those stickers until I became aware and replaced them. Quite a few with American Classic Radials have has the same issues. I went ahead and changed out the spare also, just in case.
I run mine at 35psig, no problems since.
