Can you post a few pictures? The 26" measurement from the floorboard is about right, but when I see the 4" measurement from the top of cushion to the bottom of the steering wheel, that tells me the seat cover was installed incorrectly. Again, pictures will give me a visual where I can confirm. Also, if the cushion was overstuffed, then likely the backrest was done likewise which can severely cramp your cabin space.
