Default 1940 Ford

The Green Bible on page 303 shows part # 78-7085- B as the retainer (trans. main shaft bearing) at the rear of the 3 speed transmission used in 1937-40 90 HP cars and also 1939-41 commercial trucks. This is also commonly called the rear transmission mount.

On the same page of the Green Bible is shown part # 21A-7085, retainer (trans. main shaft bearing) used in 1942-48 8 cylinder 90 and 100 HP v-8 cars.
Also called rear trans. mount.

QUESTION: Are parts 78-7085-B and 21A-7085 retainers interchangeable? The center to center measurement of the bolt holes is 8 inches.

They both look like the one shown here except for the center to center distance on mine is 8 in., not 10.
