Two questions my car 46 59 ab mechanical oil gauge read 60lb all day but the original electric reads 30lbs ? new nos gauge new sender (nope) tried several working senders (nope same thing) can a resistor on the sender help? if so what resistor value.

second question commercial truck, oil gauge reads too high mecanical gauge reads 45lbs dash gauge reads 80lbs can I put a 'pot' between the sender and sender wire? most likely its the sender the original can not be found anywhere...( want to keep the original gauge ) .

I use to know this stuff but not now...
