how much movement are you talking about? you say slightly.
the bell housing is the front bearing retainer.
is the shaft moving in the bearing or is the bearing moving within the housing.
can check that movement with the shift tower off?

i am assembling one here but i may not get that far for a couple of days due to a bit of frame repair i need to do. BUT when i get mine together i can see how much movement there is in it, if you like.
