Re: Cruise RPM?
My Deuce roadster has a Ford 8" rear with 2.89 gears. I cruise down the Jersey or PA Turnpike at 70 MPH at about 2400 RPMs. I have a friend that's building a street rod with over 800 HP and 4.56 gears and monster Mickey Thompson's in the rear. He told me he can't wait to drive to the Nat's in Louisville. I don't think he has any idea what that is going to be like. Back to your situation, the only thing you can do is change the gears, which is a major job or tires, 3766 RPM's is a lot for a flathead. As most have suggested between 2300 and 2700 is a nice cruising RPM.
